In the early days of arrival to California, I have faced with a lot of obstacles such as language barrier, culture shock and financial burden. Transition from high school to local state university in 2013 was a drastic change because I was surprised to find out that I can select my own choice of major to study, unlike in Myanmar.
During my undergraduate and graduate studies, I was grateful enough to be surrounded by many talented individuals and introduced to plenty of internships and research positions to challenge myself every summer. While grinding through late nights and struggling through early mornings, both on and off campus STEAM related activities are on my volunteering list. Besides working to gain experience and studying to increase knowledge, I am involved in student clubs and organizations as well as hold several leadership positions with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) to make a DIFFERENCE in the community.
In addition, I am fortunate enough to receive several scholarships, numerous accolades and tons of nominations. After years of sweat, blood and tears, I graduated from Cal State LA with Bachelor '18 and Master '20 of Science in Electrical Engineering and Minor in Mathematics. Upon graduation, I obtained full-time offer to work for a private consulting firm before making a MOVE and switching to work at City of LA - Bureau of Street Lighting (LA Lights).
Shortly after hire, the world faces pandemic in 2020. Many has lost their jobs, homes and loved ones which makes me worry and to think of alternatives. As a result, I forced myself to study for the Professional Engineering (PE) exam as well as the International Code Council (ICC) plans examiner test. Despite crises around the globe, I constantly push myself to find a way to break down barriers, learn from mistakes and be a better person than my old self.
By utilizing time more efficiently, I am able to improve myself and called the "youngest to achieve PE license and ICC certification" at work. There are not enough words to express my thanks to everyone who supported me along my journey. With the goals of contributing to the community, I volunteer to serve as a front-line worker while studying to become a real estate agent. By the end of 2021, I received a real estate license and became a Realtor® to serve in the community with a purpose.
During leisure times, I like to listen to music, beautify garden, practice bachata, renovate landscape and sing karaoke. At the age of 26, I have played many integral roles and still continue learning to advance in my careers. I currently strategize my time to make an IMPACT in the Entertainment field. Not only I do take pride in developing multi-career mentality but also find my greatest fulfillment by helping others achieve their goals and improve their mindset.
I highly believe that with true grit and enough resources, nothing is impossible.
I strongly value the trust that my clients place in me and thrive every day to exceed expectations.
I fully support the decision that you will be making to lock in SUCCESS and achieve the American Dream.
